Well I am writing this review of a slider keyboard case for your Iphone that normaly cost $99 but I got it on sell for 74 dollars. It has a keyboard that slide out and allows you to navigate via the Iphone's OS. Its got the home button, lock button and keys that bring up the simbles on the keyboard when you need them. So why did I get this keyboard case!, for times I need to post to life journel, long texting sessions and days when honestly I do not feel like typing on a touch screen. :), don't worry its not just IOS I feel that away even my beloved android as well. So no review would be complete if I did not point out the down fall of this product, unless someone on here knows how to activate voiceover's control plus option so I can use the spacebar to activate items a person hoping to just use the keyboard is out of luck.

Okay time to correct my last post, this keyboard does have a way you can click on links, items and open apps by pressing up and down arrow at once.

Yes I should think if you use left and right arrow at once you get the Quick Nav, then once that is on, use the up and down arrow at once to activate items.

LeoGuardian your right, researched it via the web and found that arrow up and down does click links and open apps. Now to figure how a person could activate the rotter via keyboard. When I do if its possible I will report back.

here you go help for IPhone voiceover users for keyboard support:

Hi Shannon, Shaun, and Others,
I'm pretty sure that you can activate some of the VoiceOver navigation functions on the BoxWave Keyboard Buddy by using the arrow keys if you turn QuckNav on by simultaneously pressing the Right and Left arrow keys. At this point you should be able to press the right arrow key to flick right to the next control and press the left arrow to flick left to the previous control. You should also be able to activate links and press buttons (double tap) by simultaneously pressing the up and down arrow keys. In QuickNav mode you should also be able to access the previous rotor setting by simultaneously pressing the up arrow and left arrow, and access the next rotor setting by simultaneously pressing the up arrow and right arrow. In any particular rotor setting you should be able to navigate through the options by pressing the up and down arrow keys. To exit QuickNav mode simultaneously press the right and left arrow keys again, and listen for VoiceOver to say "QuickNav off".

There are still a bunch of VoiceOver commands that you will not be able to execute without a Control and Option key. (I'm going according to the information that BoxWave gave me in response to my email query about the presence of these keys last December, and according to the reports in the iLounge review of this keyboard case that also reported these keys were not present; I can't test this directly since I don't have this keyboard.) The most important of these (for me) is the inability to do a "read all" or "read all from current position" with Control-Option-A or Control-Option-B, since I read ebooks on the device. It's also convenient to tap the Control key to pause VoiceOver's speech (the way this works on the Mac), and for the shortcuts to navigate to the first and last element of a screen (Control+Up arrow and Control+Down arrow), among some of the most useful commands that would not be supported.

I'd really like to know whether there's a way to execute a "Read All" command with this keyboard, because that's the deal breaker for me. In addition, I'd love to be able to check whether the editing selection functions work with this keyboard (if there's a Command key that can be used with the arrow keys to navigate).

Here's a suggestion for users of the BoxWave Keyboard Buddy Case and others testing out new Bluetooth keyboards: assuming that you can get your new keyboard paired with your device, enter VoiceOver help mode by going to the area for practicing gestures in Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver > VoiceOver Practice and flick right past the "Done" button to the area for practicing gestures. Now try typing key combinations on your paired Bluetooth keyboard and listen to what VoiceOver announces. This will quickly tell you what the particular key or key combination does according to VoiceOver. Note that pressing the "escape" key or a "Home" button will also terminate keyboard help (and VoiceOver will announce "stopping help" before throwing you out of this mode. Also, on some keyboard press Fn+ a key changes the operating mode. On the Think Geek TK-421 and Bear Motion Mini-Bluetooth Keyboard pressing Fn+Enter (or "Return") toggles all subsequently pressed keys to their Function mode equivalents and you have to press Fn+Enter again to exit this mode. On the Think Outside Stowaway (Sierra model) keyboard, which has support for an embedded numpad (as well as a fifth row of number keys at the top of the keyboard), pressing the Fn key in combination with the Caps Lock key toggles the Numlock on and off (although VoiceOver doesn't announce anything under iOS), so pressing the keys on the right side of the keyboard will yield numbers in place of letters until you exit Numlock.

I think this behavior of the VoiceOver practice gestures area initiating keyboard help mode and vice versa has been in effect since last October (or the previous vesrion of iOS 4.2.1). At least, I found that when I was in keyboard help mode for testing a new paired keyboard, the screen responded to gestures as though I were in practice gestures mode, even when I wasn't in this area under the main Settings menu. A little experimenting indicated the reverse was also true: if I entered the VoiceOver practice gestures under the Settings menu, my paired Bluetooth keyboard would be put into keyboard help mode. Very useful if you want to check out a keyboard that does not have a Control and Option key, since otherwise there would be no way to turn on keyboard help (Control-Option-K) through the keyboard! The other thing that Shaun could try doing is pairing the BoxWave Keyboard Buddy Case to his MacBook or MacBook Pro. Then you can turn on keyboard help mode by pressing Control-Option-K on the laptop keyboard, and continue to test the new keys by pressing the keys on the paired Bluetooth keyboard. (This is less direct than checking the paired keyboard on the iPhone, but it will at least tell you whether there's anything that VoiceOver thinks will function as a Command, Control, or Option key.)

I have the Iphone5S which for any who thinks my work bought it for n me no. Its mine :), any way, this board is posted for those who want a keyboard for times they will be typing for long periods in an app like live jernel. Also, its good for those who have a hard time wrapping their minds around a touch screen. Keep in mind, as flip phones die more seniors will be migrating to IOS or android some will be blown away because of lack of physical buttons. Some people have physical issues that vcause there hands to shake which cause them to pause, think as there typing and the Iphone's keyboard wen on touch typing will then begin to change the keyboard styles on them.

Great reply. Sorry to off-topicate. I will try a keyboard with my phone. I heard 7.1 causes issues with some keyboards. Must suck if that is your system. They will hopefully fix that real soon.
